WiMAX Forum® meets at Rohde & Schwarz

The Certification, Technical, and Evolutionary Technical Working Groups (CWG/TWG/ETWG) of the WiMAX Forum convened for a face-to-face meeting at the Rohde & Schwarz Munich headquarters from August 21 to 24, 2007. At this meeting, the WiMAX specialists from Rohde & Schwarz demonstrated the implementation of certification test cases in line with the IEEE 802.16e WiMAX mobile radio standard by means of the R&S TS8970 RF conformance test system.

The WiMAX Forum, which is an association of manufacturers and network operators, had in 2006 selected the mobile radio and T&M specialist Rohde & Schwarz as a developer of radio conformance test testers (RCTT). The R&S TS8970 RF test system allows WiMAX end products to be tested and certified for conformance with radio standards in accordance with the 802.16e-2005 specification.

With its comprehensive range of products for WiMAX applications, Rohde & Schwarz makes an active contribution toward spreading the use of this future-oriented technology, which provides wireless broadband access to high-speed Internet applications for both private users and companies.
